IB Diploma Tuition

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-year pre-university curriculum recognised worldwide, offered at international and some independent schools in Singapore. Students study six subjects across the IB subject groups at Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL), while completing the Theory of Knowledge course, a 4,000-word Extended Essay and the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) requirement. HomeAiTutor supports DP students with a 24/7 AI tutor for concept reinforcement and practice, plus specialist human tutors who understand IB assessment criteria, Internal Assessment rubrics and the rigour of the final externally assessed papers.

IB Diploma tuition — FAQ

How is IB Diploma grading structured?

Each of the six subjects is graded on a scale of 1 to 7. Three additional points are available for strong performance in the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge combined, giving a maximum of 45 points. A score of 24 points (with certain minimum conditions met) is the passing threshold as set by the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

What is the difference between SL and HL in the IB Diploma?

Higher Level (HL) subjects involve greater breadth and depth than Standard Level (SL) — roughly 240 teaching hours for HL versus 150 for SL. Students must take at least three subjects at HL. HL papers typically include additional topics and require more extended responses. Our tutors have experience at both levels; specify HL or SL when requesting a tutor.

Can HomeAiTutor help with Internal Assessments (IAs)?

The AI tutor is useful for concept review and data analysis practice that feeds into IAs, such as Maths exploration ideas or Science lab report drafting. The human tutor is best placed to give feedback on IA structure, subject-specific rubric alignment and presentation — areas where IBO assessment criteria require nuanced feedback.

How is the Extended Essay (EE) supported?

The EE is a self-directed 4,000-word research essay supervised by the student's school. A HomeAiTutor human tutor can supplement school supervision by helping with argument structure, citation practice and subject-specific content — but the official supervisor relationship must remain with the school as required by IBO regulations.

Do you guarantee a specific IB Diploma total or university placement?

No — no responsible tutor can guarantee a specific grade or university outcome. We provide syllabus-aligned support and qualified tutors designed to help students perform to their potential.
